OUR HEALTHY CHOCOLATE BLUEBERRY OR BANANA SMOOTHIE RECIPE


We’re BIG fans of smoothies in the Amari Wild office, not the sugar packed, commercially made products like Innocent, but homemade, full of goodness, plant based drinks. We make smoothies nearly everyday and the whole office love them, some of us even like the Spirulina ones…..(yuck!!)


Generally we stick to the bulk of the smoothie being fruit but sometimes it's nice to have a treat and so we turn to this delicious blueberry (or banana) smoothie that tastes like the best chocolate milkshake ever.


It's a real crowd pleaser and a great introduction to smoothies for those who are a bit more sceptical or as a way to get some fruit into fussy eaters. Oh and it's gluten and nut free and depending on your milk choice can be vegan and dairy free too.


For 1 Smoothie


Half a cup frozen blueberries (fresh are fine but the frozen berries give a slush texture or frozen banana)

1 tbsp dried shredded coconut (not the sweetened kind)

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp chia seeds

1 tbsp peanut butter (organic preferably)

1 tbsp cacao powder (or chocolate protein powder)

1 or 2 cups milk of your choice (oat is best….but that’s just my preference)


Throw the whole lot in your blender or smoothie maker, or Nutri Bullet if you have one and blitz. Add enough milk to make the smoothie drinkable through a straw that's half the fun! We use bamboo or metal straws as they are greener than the plastic ones, you can buy bamboo straws in our shop.
